  • October 27, 2004 -- Trend of Glove Usage in Occupational Settings 
    • The purpose of this paper is to present an overview of medical & non-medical gloves used in different occupational settings. Three major areas of emphasis will be presented: (1) healthcare & clinical settings when effective barrier qualities of medical & surgical gloves are important;  (2) restaurant & food industry when hygiene & prevention & prevention of diseases will be important for non-medical gloves; and (3) industrial settings when a thorough understanding of the effects of chemicals, solvents, cut resistance & puncture resistance on various types of gloves will be important.

  • October 27, 2004 -- Epidemiology of Occupational Allergies to Natural Latex in the German Health Care System 
    • This study assesses the effects of intervention to reduce the incidence of NRL allergy in personnel working in acute care hospitals insured by the German statutory accident insurance company "Berufsgenossenschaft fuer Gesundheitsdienst und Wohlfahrtspflege" (BGW), covering approximately 380,000 employees, by switching to powder-free NRL gloves.
